Frances Ellen DeVore, age 74, died on March 6, 2017 in Denver, Colorado following a two-year struggle with cancer. She was born on July 27, 1942 in Bluffton, Ohio and lived on a farm as the youngest of five children. From 1972 to 1995, Frances lived on a cattle ranch in Arlee, Montana and later in Missoula, Montana. She lived in Boise, Idaho from 1995 to 2014 when she moved to Denver, Colorado to be closer to her daughter.

Frances had a lifelong career in health education. She worked at the Missoula County Health Department, Planned Parenthood, and Carewise, Inc. in Missoula. She also worked at Healthwise in Boise. She had a special knack for using her skill as a writer to raise awareness regarding how to be an informed healthcare consumer. Frances is survived by her daughter, Lillian Alves (husband Todd Bane), granddaughter Bridget Bane, sisters Lois Vinge of Sutton, Nebraska and Mary Ann DeVore of San Marcos, Texas, and brother Robert DeVore of Carson City, Nevada.
