Arnnise Michele Yurga (nee Arnnise Michele Bassett), beloved wife, mother and friend, age 61, passed away peacefully in her home in Parker, Colorado on February 5th.
She was born November 3, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph Arnold Bassett and Frances Martha Bassett (nee Frances Martha Brown). She received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Drexel University followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University. Arnnise married Richard Fredric Yurga on January 26th, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, and they celebrated 36 years together until his passing on June 6th, 2016.
Arnnise worked for over 35 years as an Engineer for Raytheon Company and Hughes Aircraft and enjoyed many activities throughout her life. She cherished the friends she made in her book club, made great friends with several members of her church, and enjoyed spending time with those she was closest to. She always put family first, and enjoyed going to sporting events, fishing and boating, and simply sitting and conversing with them.
She is survived by her sister Lynn Hellyer (Bradenton, FL), her three children and their spouses: Joseph Andrew Yurga and Kylie Kara Yurga (Aurora, CO), Rosalin Michele Been & Joshua Andrew Been (Denver, CO), Jeffrey Tyson Yurga and Michelle Grace Yurga (Aurora, CO), as well as her grandson Maddox Andrew Yurga (son of Joseph and Kylie, Aurora, CO).
Arnnise also enjoyed giving and made regular contributions to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Denver Rescue Mission, the Denver Dumb Friends League, and the Alzheimer's Association Denver.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 9030 Miller Road in Parker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to any of her favorite charities.
