Dr. Marsha FranklinMay 4, 1947 ~ December 17, 2017 (age 70)
Marsha Ann Franklin of Highlands Ranch, CO passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the age of 70.
She was born on May 4, 1947 in San Angelo, Texas. Her family moved from town to town when she was young, but finally settled in Alamogordo, New Mexico where she graduated from high school. Marsha attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She starting dating Kerry her sophomore year. The two were married in 1967 and spent the next 50 years building their lives together.
In 1970 Kerry and Marsha moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. For the next 19 years they raised a family and built cherished friendships. Marsha was dedicated to her church family, particularly to the young toddlers in the church. She spent countless hours preparing for VBS and Sunday morning Bible classes.
After all 4 children were school age, Marsha decided to start her own career. She went back to college and graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of New Mexico in 1989. Even though she always called Albuquerque home, graduate school required a move to Denver, Colorado. She entered graduate school at the University of Denver, and within 4 years, she completed her Doctorate of Psychology. She opened a private practice and worked for 23 years in the Denver area before retiring.
Marsha traveled the world with Kerry and enjoyed hiking and four-wheeling in the mountains, but her favorite activity was spoiling those she loved. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and always at the forefront of her mind. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will live in our memories as a thoughtful, loyal, and dedicated person. She loved the Lord and was joyful to go and meet Him.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dwayne, and her son Benjamin. She is survived by her husband Kerry Franklin, her sister Connie Everett, her daughters Jennifer Kellogg (Kurt), Ginger Burke (Chuck), and Brenda Franklin, her daughter-in-law Rebecca Franklin, and her 8 grandchildren: Sean, David, Sandy, Aidan, Connor, Braxton, Madilyn, and Alex.
