As many already know, Kenneth Bearden, Downtown Denver Service Manager, passed away on May 9, 2018, after suffering injuries from a fatal motorcycle accident May 6. Together, Ken and his wife, Kathleen, enjoyed their passion for motorcycling. Kathleen was riding with him during the accident. She is currently recovering at home from serious injuries. We know that the accident did not involve another vehicle and that Ken's motorcycle unexpectedly left the roadway. During this time of grief, it is important to offer support and prayers for Kathleen. Ken began his 32-year career with Dover Elevator Systems in Memphis in 1985. He started in the Modernization Department as an Electrical Technician building and testing controller components. In 1990, Ken advanced to the Research and Development Department as a technician working on the TIIIDC300 SCR Drive, TIV SCR Drive and MG Systems. In 1994 he was promoted to the Field Engineering Department and provided field support on most of the Dover product line, including both hydraulic and traction controls. Ken accepted the position of Denver Service Superintendent in 2000. In addition to his other duties, he was charged with oversight, training and support for the mechanics in the Denver metro area. In 2005, Ken was promoted to Service Manager for the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area. Ken joined ITS in 2006 as an International Field Engineer, providing technical support for thyssen krupp equipment to our field offices throughout North and Central America. Recently in August 2017, Ken accepted the position of Service Manager for the Denver Downtown branch office. Ken's experience and dedication is a substantial loss for all.
