Robert S Dalrymple, a true gentleman, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018, of ALS. Bob was born in Corning, New York, on January 4, 1941. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Math from Harpur College and his MBA from University of Southern California.
He began his career with service to his Country by attending Officer Training School then serving 21 years in the Air Force, including time with Strategic Air Command and Space Command. In February, 1963, Bob married Grace Elizabeth “Betty” Frank, and the Air Force took them to Arkansas, Nebraska, Rochester, NY, Norfolk, VA, Israel, and Southern California. During this time they raised 3 sons - Scott, Neal and Bruce, who followed in their father’s footsteps and served in the Air Force and had the honor of being commissioned by their Dad.
After retiring from the Air Force, Bob enjoyed a 2nd career with Lockheed Martin which took them to Yorkshire, England, Santa Maria, California, and Denver, Colorado. On November 21st 2002, Bob’s wife Grace (Betty) passed away after a hard fought struggle with cancer. After attending grief support groups together, Bob and Betty J Johnson were married on June 12, 2004. They spent the last 14 years traveling to his favorite destinations such as to his cabin on Galway Lake, in upstate New York, golfing in Scotland, a cruise to Alaska as well as time in the Colorado mountains. In addition to traveling, they enjoyed golfing, and activities with their now expanded family to include Betty’s children and grandchildren.
Bob priorities and joys in life were Faith, Family Friends and Flag.
Bob will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by, his wife Betty, his sons Scott (Hilda), Neal (Monika) and Bruce (Laurel), his grandchildren Andrew, Brianna, Corissa, Hayden, Jillian, Alexandra, , Alyssa, Joseph and Charles and brother David Dalrymple and sister Susan Johnson. His adopted Colorado family includes stepchildren Richelle (Robert) Pfeiffer, Ryan (Kristi) Johnson, Beth (Joel) Peterson and step grandchildren Cole, Brady, Braxton, Kristopher, Riley, Nathan, Clayton, Amanda, Annabelle and Lily and two great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, August 8th at 3:00pm at Parker United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Parker United Methodist Church, 11805 S Pine Dr, Parker, CO 80134 or the ALS Association – Rocky Mountain Chapter.
Final Resting Place with Full Military Honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
